This is performed immediately after Poornabhishekam and is also known as Melchat vastram.
Weekly Seva Darshan Details:
The thin Namam placed during Tiruppavada seva on Thursday is again modified into the big one using Kasturi (known as Kasturi Tilaka) and then Lord venkateswara is adorned with a sari along with his jewels. The curtain cloth is pulled to cover the process of makeover for Lord Venkateswara.
After offering Naivedyam to Lord Venkateswara, all the devotees participating in Abhishekam and Vastralankarana Seva are allowed for darshan.
This weekly seva in Tirumala will be performed from 3:30 A.M every Friday. The reporting time is 3:00 A.M, though it is better to gather at the time of Suprabhata seva. The gathering point is at Suphadham.
2 persons are allowed per ticket. The Sari piece ( dupatta) along with a blouse are offered for the couple along with 2 Big laddus and 2 Vadas.
Only current booking is available for this weekly seva. There is no advance booking available. A recommendation letter should be submitted at JEO office in tirumala prior to the seva’s date. If luck favours , the letter gets approved since this seva is the most competitive and tightly packed ritual among all other sevas in tirumala. The tickets can be collected Baghicha guest house.
This seva is followed by Friday special darshan called Nija Pada Darshan.
