Sahasra Deepalankarana Seva

This is one of the daily sevas in Tirumala, that is performed at Koluvu Mandapam which is located outside of the temple.

Sahasra means “1000”. As the name indicates 1000 Deepams are lit inside the place. The idols of Malayappa Swami, Sridevi and Bhudevi are put on a swing and Annamacharya ‘s sacred poems along with vedic hymns are chanted.  

After the completion of the ritual, the Malayappa Swamy along with his consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi are taken on a tour on the four streets surrounding the temple before taking them inside.

Sahasra Deepalankarana Seva Timings:

The seva starts at 5.00 P.M every day. It is believed that lighting the lamps at the time of sunset makes both Sridevi and Bhudevi happy.

Sahasra Deepalankarana Seva Ticket Cost:

The ticket cost is Rs 200/- per head. The Seva lasts about half an hour. The ticket holders will be sent for darshan of main deity after the completion of seva.

Book the tickets 3 months in advance in TTD online portals. If there is availability, Vijaya bank also issue the tickets hours before the seva.
