This is the last among all the daily sevas in Tirumala. As the name indicates, the main deity of Lord venkateswara along with all the idols are given some time to take rest from all the poojas.
The Ekanta Seva Details
The idol of Bhoga Srinivasa is put on a golden swing by singing lullabies that are written by Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya. These songs are now sung by the descendants of the great sacred poet.
This seva is also called as Pavalimpu seva where fruits, Milk and almonds are offered to the main deity. After the performance of this seva, all the lights inside the main temple will be put out there by giving 2 hrs of comfortable sleep to Lord Ventateswara. This daily seva will be continued throughout the year.
Ekanta Seva Timings:
This ritual starts around 1.30 A.M. Depending on the number of devotees on that particular day, this daily seva is performed with or without public presence.
In Dhanurmasam, the idol of Lord Krishna will be put on golden swing instead of Bhoga Srinivasa.
In addition to these daily sevas, some other Sevas are also performed to Malayappa Swamy.
