As the name indicates, Ashtadala (108) flowers (padhmam) are offered to the Lord Venkateswara.
Ashtadala Pada Padmaaradhana Darshan Info:
In 1984, a Muslim devotee has offered 108 Gold Lotuses to Lord Venkateswara. This made TTD introduce this weekly seva on the same year as a part of their Golden Jubilee. After offering Dhoopam and lighting the lamps, the main Archakas worship the main deity of Lord Venkateswara with 108 Golden lotuses. Each flower weighs about 22 g . These flowers are placed at the holy feet of Lord Srinivasa while reciting his 108 names. The main attraction of this weekly seva in Tirumala is Ratha Harthi (offering harathi using a big vessel). Then it is later followed by normal Harthi.
